Our lives are busy and stressful, and we tend to move from one experience to the next with little awareness that a relaxed openness is available to us all the time. During the Healing Relaxation course we explore and experience the benefits of developing calmer states of mind and body through guided relaxations and visualizations, breathing exercises, self-massage, and gentle massage and simple movement exercises. The course is based on the principle that the human mind carries its own dignity and healing capacity which can never be permanently damaged or destroyed. This innate capacity can become familiar to all of us, and is most obviously expressed in moments of relaxed openness.

About the course leader: Kirsi Jansa has been practicing relaxation, compassion and mindfulness with Tara Rokpa Therapy since 2003. She studied in Kagyu Samye Ling, Tibetan Buddhist Center in Scotland and is a certified Tara Rokpa Learning to Relax course leader. By her main profession Kirsi is a documentary filmmaker and the producer of Sustainability Pioneers (www.sustainabiltypioneers.com) and Gas Rush Stories (www.gasrushstories.com) short documentary series, and the co-founder of Creatives for Climate collaborative. She is a native Finn and has been living in Pittsburgh and East End since 2008.
