Gel printing is an experimental, spontaneous, and fun technique resulting in layered colors, textures, and patterns that can be produced quickly and easily. Stencils (home-made or purchased), or flat materials, such as leaves and grasses, can be used to create engaging imagery. The gel plate, similar to stiff jello, holds printing ink or acrylic paint and then releases it to produce a rich surface on a variety of papers. The resulting prints can be framed as unique artworks, or used for cards, gift tags, and even made into fabric pieces, such as scarves. This hands-on workshop will introduce you to the wide range of techniques and imagery you can produce with this exciting art medium. Be prepared to get hooked!
