Ages 18+
This workshop will consist of two 6 hour sessions that will focus intensively
on the human figure. The instruction will cover key anatomical features,
proportions, dynamic flow and gesture, developing form and capturing an
accuracy in key features such as the face, hands and feet. This workshop
will use live models, but Bill will cover the use of photography and some of
the pros/cons. The workshop will include brief demonstrations by the artist
to show the processes being taught.
The majority of the time spent in this workshop will be dedicated to the
participants who will be drawing the figure from a live model with one on
one input from the instructor. The 2 sessions will be divided into key
stages of figure drawing and will culminate in a single long pose drawing
that participants will complete under guidance of the instructor. Bill will
provide hands-on insights and suggestions as each participant completes a
range of exercises and the full long pose (2-3 hour) figure drawing.
The workshop will be divided into a 3 hour morning session and 3 hour
afternoon session with a 30 minute lunch break. Short breaks will be
provided throughout the morning and afternoon sessions during model
breaks. Participants should have moderate to advanced drawing experience.
