Pastels are the purest form of powdered color pigment mixed with just enough binder to form a useable “crayon” for drawing. Pastels, along with pencil and charcoal are perhaps the most spontaneous mediums available to the artist. The artist needs only to pick up a pastel crayon and begin! In this 4 part workshop, Students will practice a variety of pastel painting techniques on different support materials guided by Instructor demonstrations and examples of completed works. Students will develop self confidence and expand skills in color application, blending, layering, underpainting and experimenting with non pastel paper supports and pumice gel medium.
