Saturday, February 1
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m
A Regent Square family has been living in Puerto Rico and after the recent earthquakes I wanted to do something to help. Also, another Regent Square family is traveling to Nicaragua in February to volunteer at an organization called Fundación Superemos (http://www.superemos.com). Reading about this organization, it sounds awesome! So, in honor of our neighbors, who are out in the world sharing their neighborliness with others, I’ve organized a small, kid-friendly Community Service Project Art Party.
Stop by at any time during those two hours and, if you would like, bring a donation! The donations collected will be split between World Central Kitchen (https://wck.org), an organization providing meals to affected families in Puerto Rico and Fundación Superemos (http://www.superemos.com).
Also, there will be two art stations set-up. One to make place mats to send along with the donation to World Central Kitchen, which hopefully they can use to help serve meals and brighten someone’s day. The second will be a place to create pictures, letters, or cards to share with the kids and families at Fundación Superemos (http://www.superemos.com).
I will have art supplies, but if you have any crayons or markers that you are willing to bring with you that would be great! I just can’t guarantee that art supplies will make it back to the correct people, so don’t bring the brand new boxes!
