This is a beginner level class in Pilates mat work, for those new to the method or those wanting to review. We will focus on the fundamentals and Levels 1 & 2 of the classical mat work. The class will incorporate the six principles of the Pilates Method: centering, concentration, control, precision, breath, and flow. Class length is 55 minutes long.
Deirdre Adkins has completed her 450 hour comprehensive teacher training, and is a PMA Certified Pilates Instructor, through Harmony Pilates in Shadyside. She is a Regent Square resident and is thrilled to be able to offer Pilates within her community.
Participants will need to provide their own mats. Thicker exercise mats are preferred, but traditional Yoga mats will work. Props will be provided by the instructor. Please arrive a few minutes early to allow yourself time to settle in and get set up. All payment of classes and 10 class passes can be taken directly after class.
