Miss Kim’s Dance Studio classes offered at WSCC

Posted on December 22, 2021 by nicole

Kim Curtin Dance offers a wide variety of classes.
Learn to dance and feel good about yourself in a family oriented environment where everybody fits in!

When entering the Wilkins School Community Center you are greeted at the dance door with a smile by Kim Curtin. Kim has been the Director/Instructor of the dance program for the past twenty six years. Along with Bernadette Smith, the two of them provide a place where people can come to learn the art of dance in a welcoming environment where everyone fits in and can feel good about themselves. The studio is a recreational dance program offering Ballet, Jazz, and Tap  to children and adults of all ages, abilities and experience.

Kim began dancing at the age of five for the Rosalene Kenneth Dance School and continued taking classes throughout her life. She loved the feeling she had in the classroom. It was her happy place that she could go to and just let the music take her away. Kim has recreated that experience with her students. She states what a beautiful experience it is to teach your past students and now their children. The goal of the studio is to learn the art of dance, promote self esteem and mostly have fun doing it.

Bernadette has been a member of the WSCC Dance Center family since 2012. She was 3 years old when she began her dance training at Ken & Jean’s Dance Studio, where she studied tap, jazz, and ballet. After graduating high school, dance continued to be an important part of her life. Bernadette believes that dance has helped her develop self-confidence, self-awareness, and resilience – skills that continue to benefit her as an adult. She hopes to create an inclusive and welcoming class in which students of any age or ability can also foster these qualities while learning ballet.

If you are interested in joining our dance family, please call Kim at (412) 215 – 6388 or email her at kimberlyanncurtin@gmail.com.
