The course equips photographers with a deeper understanding of light, gesture, and color, all crucial components in crafting visually compelling narratives. The course will incorporate lectures, weekly shooting assignments, and group critiques. Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for photographers with a solid foundation in camera operation and photo downloading. While digital SLRs are recommended, photographers utilizing phone cameras are also welcome.

About the Instructor: Carol Steen

Carol Steen brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the course. Her photographic journey began at Pittsburgh Filmmakers, followed by intensive training at the Santa Fe Workshops and the Jay Maisel Workshop. Her work graces the pages of publications like American Whitewater and The Paris Review. Additionally, her artistic vision has been showcased in exhibits, including the Black Box Gallery in Portland, Oregon, and Captured Pittsburgh’s open-air gallery in Shadyside.
