4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Creative and Expressive Movement for Adults with Monica Gaydos, MA, R-DMP, Dance Movement Psychotherapist
Six Sessions on Alternate Sundays 4:30-6 pm, September 10 & 24, October 8 & 22, and November 5 & 19
Based on the principles of Dance Movement Therapy and Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms® dance, this co-ed creative and expressive movement collective for adults of all ages consists of stretching and moving through various rhythms of music together, exploring the connection of different body parts as we move, and learning to express ourselves and our creativity through natural movement in a supportive group setting. The rhythms we move through are: Flow, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. We end with a slow moving meditation to music and have time to talk about our experience at the end. Phenomenal music is provided! Please wear clothes that are comfortable to move in and bring water. No previous dance experience is necessary: all ages, levels of experience, and body types are welcome—all that is necessary is an open mind and a willingness to explore movement. This group is limited to 12 participants to ensure safety and room to move, and to allow an ongoing group connection to develop.
Pre-registration required: $75 for six sessions
(If room, there will be a drop-in rate of $15 per session – Email RSVP required)
